'FEN'

He did not really have to go,
But he wanted to and so,
With a valiant act so measured,
He gave up everything he treasured.
For family, friends and mankind,
He left his Oakington behind.
From autumn fields to paths of sand,
With all his comrades hand in hand,
This brave young man gave so much more,
Than all in peace and most at war.
And when he fell that Sunday morn,
To leave behind a world forlorn,
Throughout the land they spoke his name,
All knowing then from whence he came.
His duty done, his spirit blessed
Now for us to do the rest.
Hearts of children, women, men,
Forever honour your hero 'Fen'.
