Various individuals and companies have approached The Rifles and offered to donate a portion of their profits from the sale of their products to the Care for Casualties appeal. In response to this we have developed this "Offers" section to the C4C website. Whilst C4C may receive donations based on sales by the producers or vendors advertised on this site, C4C does not recommend, warrant or endorse any of these products advertised and acts as an introducer only. Purchasers acquiring any such products will do so entirely at their own risk. With that understanding, we are very grateful for the offers made, however, the decision to purchase any of the items should in no way be influenced by the fact that C4C has made this introduction.
A Summer in Antarctica.
John Jones, ex 3RGJ, was selected to take part in the British Antarctic Survey, and was based at Rothera Station, Adelaide Island, Antarctica (67 degrees South, 68 degrees West, for the summer of 1994/1995. During that time John kept a diary and out of that and the photos he took during his time there and his trip from The Falklands, this book has emerged. MILITARY MUGS
TA Rifles Officer, Tristram Carter, has recently set up in business selling military mugs. He tells us that his mugs are unique in that they are not the normal “cap badge” based design as he has teamed up with the military artist, Tim Reese, to produce mugs that depict figures dressed in the uniforms of a specific regiment or campaign. The mugs are both colourful and, he promises, accurate in their representation of a Regiment or campaign.
Tristram sells the mugs through his shop, QM’s Locker, on Ebay and they retail at £6.95 each. However, if you contact him direct and mention Care for Casualties, he will give a donation of £1 from the sales price to the appeal. You can contact Tristram by email at qmslocker@hotmail.co.uk.
To check out his range of mugs you can access his Ebay shop through this link: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/gmslocker. Keep checking out the store as Tristram will be adding new mugs at regular intervals.

Alan Maier's War - Letters Home 1941-1945
Edited bt John Bendit
Alan Maier joined the King's Royal Rifle Corps in August 1941, fresh from school, and was commissioned eight months later into The Rifle Brigade. He was severely wounded in North Africa, where he spent seven months in hospital, and then joined the 2nd Battalion The Rifle Brigade. He took part in the magnificent disaster at Tossignano, Italy, where he was captured, and spent the last five months of the war in a POW camp in Germany.
In these lively and affectionate letters home to his mother and father he describes, with touching enthusiasm, army life and his new world. The reader can follow the gradual development of his personality as his initial naivety gives way to increasing maturity and reflection.
Profits from the sale of this book will be given to Care for Casualties.

10% of sales of sweet hamper for deployed troops to be donated to Care for Casualties Appeal
BRITISH troops on the frontline in Afghanistan will be given a sugar-coated surprise in the coming months thanks to a new North East business with a sweet tooth.
Budding entrepreneur Sarah McDougal has launched County Durham-based Choc n Floss, which supplies candy floss, sweets and chocolate fountains to celebrate special occasions such as weddings and birthdays.
The company has also devised a special ‘HM Forces’ version of the hamper with minimal packaging and maximum sweet content to allow people to purchase treats to send to their loved ones, costing £20, of which £2 will go to The Rifles Care for Casualties Appeal. See the Choc n Floss website, www.chocnfloss.co.uk, or contact Sarah at info@chocnfloss.co.uk for more information.
