Anna and Olivia Chesterman will be leading a team in the Edinburgh Marathon – The Edinburgh Marathon Festival. This event will be in memory of their brother, Lt Andrew Chesterman, who was killed in action in Afghanistan on 9th August 2012. During his deployment as a Platoon Commander he was involved in mentoring the Afghan National Police. Andrew was popular, utterly professional, dependable and naturally gifted. Through his inspiring leadership he had earned the respect of his fellow Riflemen on operations under the toughest of circumstances. Andrew had a passion for fitness and ran the Edinburgh Marathon himself whilst he was stationed there with his Battalion, 3 Rifles. Daniel Nickson and his family will be taking part in the Dalkeith Country Estate, Edinburgh, Tough Mudder. Daniel was injured himself whilst serving with 3 Rifles in Afghanistan in 2010 and now says he wants to put something back.
